Welcome back! I'm so happy you're here. So, we've talked about the ways that I like to self-care. We've talked about ways that I have viewed on the internet of others caring for themselves. But, we haven't gotten any other perspectives from people I know in my personal life. I was able to talk to two important people in my life about the way they self-care and how they would describe it.
First, Gabby. Gabby is a 21 year old who works part time and takes full time classes. Gabby said that she would describe self-care as, "Make sure I am good enough, mentally and physically, to be there for others." Some ways that Gabby practices self care is reading her favorite books, online shopping, and letting herself feel her full emotions.

Second, Josh. Josh is 23, recently graduated, and on the hunt for a big time job. Josh said he would describe self care as, "First and foremost, putting yourself first." He also said that, "I tend to be a person who stretches myself out to make sure the people around me are happy before I check on myself." A few ways that Josh practices self care is going to the gym, taking time to unwind before bed to collect his thoughts and reflect on the day, then from time to time reflect on where he is now then remembering how he got there.
Hearing two different perspectives from two people important to me made me think of self care differently. I think that is it extremely important to find ways that make you put yourself first. Self care is not short term, it is something that needs to be done over a lifespan. Give yourself grace, drink your water, and put yourself first. I'll see you next time :)
